Recruit-Me
Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy and security. Our goal is to help
you find athletic scholarships by providing you with
information, resources, and services that are relevant and
helpful to you. In order to achieve this goal, we sometimes
collect information during your visits to understand what is
important to you.
In this statement disclosing the privacy practices for
the Recruit-Me-Now site you will learn what
personally identifiable information of yours is collected,
how and when we might use your information, how we
protect your information, who has access to your
information, and how you can correct any inaccuracies
in the information.
What Information is Collected?
Recruit-Me-Now collects certain information from and
about our users in three ways -- directly from the user,
from our Web server logs, and with cookies.
User-Supplied Information: When you sign up for a
service, such as the Recruit-Me Newsletter, we may ask you
for your name and e-mail address. If you make a purchase,
our third-party payment processor securely collects the
personal information necessary to process your payment.
Server Log Information: When you visit an Internet
Web site, you automatically disclose certain information,
such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, the time of
your visit, and the referring location (e.g., the Site or
page that offered a link to a Recruit-Me-Now page).
Recruit-Me-Now, like many other sites, records this basic
information about visits to our site.
Cookies: In order to offer and provide a
customized, personal service, Recruit-Me-Now may use cookies
to store and help track your information. For example, we
may use cookies to help remind us who you are and to
authorize access to restricted content and services based on your
identifying information.
A cookie is a mechanism that allows a Web server to
store information about you in a tiny file on your own
hard drive. Typically, a Web site uses a cookie to record
your preferences when you first visit, helping that Web site
to serve you better when you make return visits. Only the
web site that stores a cookie will have access to it - a
security feature enforced by your browser.
The use of cookies is
relatively standard and you will likely find them used on
most major Web sites. Most browsers are initially set
up to accept cookies. If you prefer, you can adjust your
browser either to notify you when it receives a request to
store a cookie on your machine, or to refuse to accept
cookies at all. If you set your browser to
not accept cookies or if you reject a cookie, certain areas
of many sites, such as shopping carts, may not function
properly.
Public Forum Warning: You should remember that whenever you voluntarily
disclose personal information online, such as on message
boards or through e-mail, other users can see and
could collect and use your information. Although Recruit-Me tries to protect
your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the
security of any information you voluntarily disclose to
others in public forums.
How and When is Information Used?
We use information in different ways, depending on the
type of information:
User-supplied information: Recruit-Me-Now uses
this information for purposes such as personalization, permitting
access
to restricted products or information, and payment processing.
Web Server Logs: This information helps us
identify which areas of our site are of interest to our
visitors. Recruit-Me-Now also collects the Internet [Protocol]
(IP) addresses of its visitors for the purposes of system administration.
Cookies: We may use "cookies" to let you use our
services more conveniently and to let us keep track of certain
statistical information that helps us improve our site.
Cookies allow us to save passwords and preferences for you
so that you won't have to re-enter them each time you visit.
How Do We Protect Your Information?
The privacy and protection of your personal information
is vitally important to us. Recruit-Me does not make
personal information available to any third parties without
your permission. When you purchase online, our third party
payment processor, CyberSource, uses a secure
server and SSL to protect your credit card number and other
personal information during the transmission.
CyberSource does not divulge any of your payment information, such as account
numbers or bank routing numbers, to anyone, including
Recruit-Me.
SSL is short for Secure Sockets Layer, a protocol
developed by Netscape for secure transmission of private
information over the Internet. SSL works by using a private
key to encrypt data that is transmitted over the SSL
connection. Both Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer
browsers support SSL, and web sites use SSL when users
transmit confidential information such as credit card
numbers. Web pages that require an SSL connection start with
https: instead of http. SSL uses 128 bit encryption
within the United States. For more information on SSL,
please visit the Netscape web site:
http://home.netscape.com/security/techbriefs/ssl.html
Warning: Your access to some services and content is
password
protected. We recommend that you do not divulge your
password to anyone. Recruit-Me will never ask you for your
password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited
email. You should not disclose your user name and password
to others. In addition, if applicable, you should remember
to sign out of your Recruit-Me account or service at the end
of each session. You may also wish to close your browser
window when you have finished your work. This is to ensure
that others cannot access your personal information and
correspondence if you share a computer with someone else or
are using a computer in a public place like a library or
Internet cafe.
Unfortunately, there is no way to absolutely guarantee
that your data transmission over the Internet will be 100% secure. Accordingly, despite our
efforts to protect your personal information, Recruit-Me
cannot warrant the security of any information you
transmit to us. You transmit all such information at your own
risk. However, once we receive your transmission, we make
our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
Who Has Access to the Information?
Recruit-Me will not willfully
disclose any individually identifiable information about you to any third party without first receiving
your
permission. When you are at the Recruit-Me-Now site and are
asked for personal information, you will be sharing that information
only with Recruit-Me.
How Do You Correct Inaccuracies?
If you sign up for a service, such as the Recruit-Me
Newsletter, we may send you a confirmation e-mail confirming
your information. The message will be sent to the address
that you supplied us and will describe ways for you to
change or delete the information provided.
